U13 - 2010, 2011

U13 hockey continues with the formation of tiered teams that play city wide. Rec Hockey is not tiered.

The players will vary from beginner players to those that have more experience.

We plan to have 8-10 teams at the U13 level for 2022-2023.

U13 - Rec League 

  • Cost of the program is $555.00. Save $100 Early Bird until June 30 - pay $455! Fees can be paid in Full or 3 Payments.
  • A child can register in U13 even if they have not participated in U7-Discovery, U7-JR Timbits, U7-SR Timbits, U9, or U11.
  • For the 2022-23 season those born in 2010 and 2011 are designated to the U13 program.
  • Players will be placed on a team of 14-18 players.
  • There will be 18 games throughout the season.
  • Dates, times, and locations of ice times will vary.
  • Most ice times will be held on the weekend, but here may be weekday evening ice times as well.
  • Program runs from October to March.

U13 - Community

  • Cost of the program is $1025.00. Save $100 Early Bird until June 30 - pay $925! Fees can be paid in Full or 3 Payments.
  • A child can register in U13 even if they have not participated in U7-Discovery, U7-JR Timbits, U7-SR Timbits, U9, or U11 hockey.
  • For the 2022-23 season those born in 2010 and 2011 are designated to to U13 program.
  • Tiered teams of 14 to 18 players are formed after an evaluation process that occurs over 2 or more skates during the month of September.
  • Players wanting to try out for U13 AA would tryout with South Side Athletic Club, KC Athletic Club, Maple Leaf Athletic Club, or Canadian Athletic Club, depending on their residence. They would return to Confederation Hockey if not selected for one of the U13 AA teams. If registering for to tryout, please do not register for Confed Hockey unless you return.
  • The purpose of tiering is to have similarly skilled players on each team that are also playing against similarly skilled players from other clubs throughout the Hockey Edmonton program.
  • Games will be held throughout the city.
  • Locations of practices vary, but will mainly be on rinks throughout the south side of Edmonton.
  • Games and practices will be held on both weekday evenings and weekends.
  • Games will be played with referees and scores are kept.
  • There are regular goalies that have evaluated as goalies on most teams – number of goalies for the particular year permitting.
  • Development of skating and hockey skills considers the skill level of the team.
  • 20 games (full or half ice) and 20-24 practices (full ice and half ice) from September to March. Ice times will mostly be on weekends, but there will be weekday evening and weekends as well.

U13 - Development

  • Cost of the program is $1315.00. Save $100 Early Bird until June 30 - pay $1215. At time of registration the base fee of $1025 ($925 Early Bird!) is due and can be paid in full or in 3 payments.
  • For those in the Development program, the additional $290 for the Development program will be charged in September after team placement and can also be paid in full or installments.
  • Players wanting to try out for U13 AA would tryout with South Side Athletic Club, KC Athletic Club, Maple Leaf Athletic Club, or Canadian Athletic Club, depending on their residence. They would return to Confederation Hockey if not selected for one of the U13 AA teams. If registering for to tryout, please do not register for Confed Hockey unless you return.
  • In addition to the program information under U13 - Community, the following will be provided:
    • Additional 4-7 team development sessions with a paid hockey provider per year.
    • Additional 3-6 team practices per year.
    • Addition of 4-6 off ice (physical literacy) sessions
    • Additional tournament if available.

U13 - Competitive

  • Cost of the program is $1790.00. Save $100 Early Bird until June 30 - pay $1690. At time of registration the base fee of $1025 ($925 Early Bird!) is due and can be paid in full or in 3 payments.
  • For those in the Competitive program, the additional $765 for the Competitive program will be charged in September after team placement and can also be paid in full or installments.
  • Players wanting to try out for U13 AA would tryout with South Side Athletic Club, KC Athletic Club, Maple Leaf Athletic Club, or Canadian Athletic Club, depending on their residence. They would return to Confederation Hockey if not selected for one of the U13 AA teams. If registering for to tryout, please do not register for Confed Hockey unless you return.
  • In addition to the program information under U13 - Community AND U13 - Development, the following will be provided:
