Coach & Player Development

Club Development has several programs in place to promote and improve skill development and hockey fundamentals between players, parents and coaches.

CURRENTLY SCHEDULED COACH & PLAYER DEVELOPMENT CLINICS

PLAYER SKILL DEVELOPMENT - Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Southside arena. Sessions will be run by Don Depoe for players and will target specific skills for player development.

There is a limit on the number of skaters at every session so register early - no later than the Sunday before each session. To register a player, click on the appropriate category below to send an email requesting space in the clinics. PLEASE INCLUDE PLAYER'S FULL NAME AND TEAM NUMBER IN THE EMAIL.

The goalie training programs run by our Club D team have always been remarkable. This year our sessions were led by Gold in the Net. Goalies should register at the start of the year for the development clinics. Dates for sessions are below.

DEVELOPMENT FOR COACHES - Coaches roundtable meeetings will be held at Kinsmen Arena in the meeting room from 7:30 to 8:30pm. Dates are Oct 25 (Pre-Novice and Novice), Nov 22 (Atom), Dec 20 (Peewee), and Jan 24 (Bantam). All category coaches should attend and be prepared to discuss coaching concerns they may have as well as discuss the feedback that they have provided to Club Development through the roundtable questionnaire.

LOST AND FOUND GOALIE PROGRAM
To give skating players (not full time goalies) an opportunity to tryout in net. Coaches using the LAFGP with two goalies in net for practices can be better organized, faster and more creative using the full ice surface. Because of this not only will the invited goalie benefit, coaches and skating players benefit too. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.

GOALIE VOUCHER PROGRAM: [for all goalies]
Voucher is good for a 1-hour one-on-one goalie session. The vouchers are only valid for GOLD IN THE NET. To receive vouchers please call the Club Development Director.


PRACTICE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: [for individual teams, novice, atom only]
A professional instructor invited to a team practice, to provide skill development in one of the following areas, skating, puck-handling, shooting, passing. This will be a 'one time' only free session for each team. To book email the Club Development team. Please ensure you include the Coaches Name, Phone #, Email Address, Category, Tier, Arena, Date & Time of practice as well as the skill development requested. If your request is not confirmed, please call or email the Club Development Director.


PARENTS WANTING TO COACH:
Confederation Hockey Club reimburses the cost of coaching education recommended and mandatory by E.M.H.A. to all parents of Confederation Hockey Club who are interested.

Safety Program {mandatory for at least one team official on the bench during games} and  Speak Out [mandatory for all team officials].  Call the Club Development Director for more information. Schedules for upcoming Speak Out and Safety sessions can be found on the EMHA website - click here.
